January 1: Museum Closed in observance of New Year's Day.

January 29-31: The 61st Annual Grand National Roadster Show, the world's longest running car show, will take place Friday-Sunday, January 29-31, 2010, at the historic Pomona Fairplex, 1101 West McKinley Ave., Pomona, California.

February 2010

NEW EXHIBIT OPENING
Feb. 12 - Oct. 3:
Mickey Thompson: First American to 400 MPH presented by Gale Banks Engineering

VIP/Media Preview on Thursday, Feb. 11

 

February 12-14: NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Pomona Raceway.

February 12: Auto Club Night of Champions Q&A with NHRA drivers, 6 p.m.

February 13: Racing Collectible Show, 12 p.m. - 10 p.m., $5 admission

February 13: Legend's Dinner will be held in the Avalon Room at the L.A. County Fairplex; cocktails will be served from 5-6 p.m., dinner from 6-7 p.m., and the panel discussion will run from 7-9 p.m.

Tickets are $125 per person and tables (10 per table) can be purchased for $1100 by calling 800-884-NHRA.

Auction proceeds benefit the Museum.

Held the first Wednesday of every month (except during the L.A. County Fair) April through December. Admission is free always!

May 5: Prolong Twilight Cruise featuring GM E-ROD Systems, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
SoCal's largest free classic car, muscle car and hot rod cruise-in.
Admission is free.

 


May 6-7: Ford Motor Company and AAA present Student Auto Skills Competition 

 

May 15: Mickey Thompson: First American to 400 MPH presented by Banks Power Panel Discussion, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Join us at the NHRA Motorsports Museum - Hall of Champions - for an intimate discussion on the extraordinary life of the late Mickey Thompson. Panelists including family and former crew members will reminisce on the ride they had with Mickey. After the talk, panelists will answer questions from the audience and sign autographs. Admission is $20 includes Museum admission and light refreshments. 

May 22: SoCalAMX's 4th Annual "West Coast All AMC Car Show" at the NHRA Motorsports Museum, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  All AMC cars are welcome to participate. For more information, contact Mark Melvin at 626-638-3251.

June 5: 2nd Annual Doin' It for the Kids Car & Bike Show sponsored by The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and So-Cal Speed Shop. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Thomas Plaza, downtown Pomona. **Prolong Twilight Cruise hiatus during the L.A. County Fair, resumes Oct. 6. **
Museum operates the same hours and days as the L.A. County Fair, Sept. 4 through Oct. 3, 2010

September 4 - New exhibit opens - Axes & Axles: The Art of Building Cars and Guitars, Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Fender Telecaster, a new exhibition to acknowledge the synergy between guitars (axes) and cars (axles), will be on view at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, presented by Automobile of Southern California, from September 4, 2010 through June, 2011. This exhibit will feature a vast collection of rare photographs, rock memorabilia and personal cars and guitars from rock icons such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Michael Anthony, Billy F Gibbons and many more.

2011 CALENDAR


Save the Date!

January 1: Museum closed in observance of New Year's Day. Museum closed on all major holidays.

January 28-29: Grand National Roadster Show at Fairplex

June 16-18: Thursday-Saturday, 9th annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, Beech Bend Raceway Park, Bowling Green, Kentucky. Tickets on sale starting December, 2010.

The museum is open year-round, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended hours during the Auto Club Raceway's NHRA national events. Closed on Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Current NHRA members are admitted free. Admission for non-members is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 60 and older, $6 for juniors 6 through 15, and free for children under the age of 5. L.A. County Fair admission required for entry during the Fair. Show your AAA card and save. Free parking.
